I thought based on the wording that it was slang for Americans, but now that I've googled it, I am highly amused that they are asking for advice from apparently false pubic hair that functions as a genitalia cover-up.

The above exchange is somehow indicative of fandom in general. It covers the language gap between US and UK, Wikipedia, food, a fandom, cute men, obscure fandom reference to actor, fic, double entendres (apparently endorsed by Wiki), writing process, a request for information, coffee and cult movies.
