[livejournal.com profile] fluterbev and me, and we're wondering if some of you Merkins out there could advise - what would be a Joe Average sort of a car, anonymous; the sort of thing no one would look twice at in the street, but with a very roomy trunk? (ooh what a giveaway) ::cue Burgi laugh:: heh heh heh.

Chevy Cavalier. Everyone I know has had one or driven one, and there are still lots of them around town here. They don't stick out, and if I remember correctly from when my friend Jae had his, it had a pretty decent trunk on it.

Duly noted, many thanks!

I agree. I certainly couldn't pick it out on the street, but lots of people have them.

Should I be directing our American friends to a certain Wiki entry on merkins? Hmmmmm?

I have no idea what you're talking about hon but it sounds fascinating.

Don't mind me, I'm not in my right mind; high on coffee and saturated fats.

I can believe it. I've just seen Bev's breakfast post. *g*

I thought based on the wording that it was slang for Americans, but now that I've googled it, I am highly amused that they are asking for advice from apparently false pubic hair that functions as a genitalia cover-up.

Yuppers. The Wiki entry I looked at had interesting commentary as to Merkin Muffley's name in Dr Strangelove. I love my language. *g*

The lady's front bottom has been our main topic of conversation this morning! How amusing.

The above exchange is somehow indicative of fandom in general. It covers the language gap between US and UK, Wikipedia, food, a fandom, cute men, obscure fandom reference to actor, fic, double entendres (apparently endorsed by Wiki), writing process, a request for information, coffee and cult movies.

Oh, but wait. No one has mentioned butt sex yet.

There. All taken care of.

Ah, no, sorry. Do you really want to know how many times?

Oh, and the ass-babies. Yeah, we've done them a lot

Does forcing my friends to look at manips of assbabies count? Because if so yes, yes it got mentioned rather a lot ;-)

Can't answer the question; just popping in to say I'd love to take your icon home and mother it. Or something.
(clearly I have imbibed far too much gin this pm.)

This one? It's mine, by all means give it a home if tis your want, hon.

Probably should have been a bit clearer, hey, but alcohol does that to one. The Blair in your icon is utterly adorable, and I want to pat him on his head and tell him not to worry.
Thanks ever so!

Wait - there's another one that might make even more sense. Ford Taurus - a very popular, kind of dull sedan. The Baltimore City Police Department used it as their fleet car, and the cars were constantly breaking down. Turns out nobody asked Ford if the Taurus could handle being on broken-down city streets all day, every day; the BCPD ended up having to junk the whole fleet.

Don't think a car that kept broking down would suit our guy tbh. He's got a lot of driving to do - we already went with the Cavalier tbh, but thanks for still thinking of us. :o)

Actually, the Taurus is a good car - it's just that it wasn't made for heavy duty police work. But the Cavalier works as well. Good luck!
