Has happened chez moi

Switched on the grill to immolate some mushrooms, garlic and courgettes for dinner - noticed slightly unpleasant smell, checked bin - nope, sink and drains likewise. Opened grill to cook veggies and found...

omg!

Several slices of courgettes I cooked - oh lawdy, at least a fortnight ago, possibly a month or more  - still in there, rich with mould and now roasting on the hot grill.

The smell in the kitchen is terrible. I've scrubbed and scrubbed the grill within an inch of its Teflon life but I can still smell it. Oh dear Gods. Dirt! smell! noes! I don't do this stuff well. More wine, I think, to help me forget.

- Ireland's most sarcastic priest; 'Dear God, the smell!!!' I've fetched hyacinths from the garden, eating a peach and trying not to think about it.

Oh how awful! I don't even like ordinary cooking odours right now, so malodorous, mouldy ones would kill me! =<{

Maybe you can soak the grill with a paste of baking soda and vinegar?

Good luck getting rid of the bad smells.

Baking soda and vinegar's a good idea. The smell has mostly gone now but it'll live in my brain for all time. :o)

ICK!!!

One of the only side effects I'm experiencing is almost a heightened sense of smell, but in a way that makes odours all smell icky, including laundry detergent, soaps AND normally nice cooking odours.

So glad I can't smell through cyber space. *g*

Oh sweetie. Sending so much love you won't know where to put it all. ♥

Thanks so very much. My cup already overfloweth! =>}

Believe me, it was like something from the black lagoon. *g*

Ah. door's open, garden smells sweet; it's fading, or is that just the wine?

Oh man! I did that not so very long ago with an old vegetarian pizza. I finally ended up boiling lemon in there to kill the smell.

I opened the back door and the garden is doing the job nicely. Boiling a lemon sounds good though, just for the hell of it :o)

Ewww! Have some more drinkies and get out the backing soda .

Time for take-out?

I just steamed the veggies in the microwave, it was fine.

It's not too bad in there now. I still have to deal with the slimy mess in the bin though ::shields eyes. reels back in horror::

May I just say 'ewww'. That's just nasty!

I think you should have more wine. Then I can giggle at you being very squiffy!
Did I say that?
Nooooooooo.

Case of having to be, really, that or chuck out a really quite good grill. :o) See, in the Aga, this never happens, everything forgotten in there just petrifies nicely. Damn summer! ::shakes fist at sun::

I can top your stinky dinner. A mouse has apparently died somewhere near the kitchen and we can't find where. We've got windows open and I'm trying not to breathe deeply.

Yuck!

I've left a load of laundry in the washer for a week. *sigh* It took several washings to get that musty smell out.

Hopefully the wine does the trick! *g*

OH!

Oh yeah that smell be BAD O:! - But I can go one worse - laundry left soaking in a bucket for anything more than a day in an un-air conditioned Tropical climate. That's like nothing else on Earth.
