Richard in the UK

Tis with much squee that I announce that Richard Burgi is playing for the American team at the All Star Cup in South Wales this bank holiday weekend!!!

The tourny's at the Rider Cup course at The Celtic Manor Resort  (the hotel's all booked up, folks - already checked!) near Newport - tickets are still available, though.
£5 for the Saturday practice (which sounds the most fun IMO) and  £20 for the tournament days; Sunday 27th and Monday 28th.

The tournament website gives all the details, and the hotel site tells you how to get there. [profile] alibongo and I are already booked into a nearby B&B; got our tickets and are good to go - is anyone gonna join us?

THE THING ITSELF

HOW TO GET THERE

Wow, Gilly! That sounds fantastic. I can't make it, but I really hope you and Ali have a good time.

Waaaaaaah! Why oh why can't Richard be there in October, I ask you?? *sob* This is so not fair!

Will need photos and details, Gilly! I am so envious!

I know, I KNOW!!! That was my first thought!
You know, we could always drop heavy hints about another really nice golf course up in the West Midlands if he fancied coming back in October... ::G::

[identity profile] andeincascade.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish you would, Gilly! I could put him up in my room if he needed a place to stay ... *g*

I'm sure Rae would never notice the extra roomie!!!

[identity profile] angelvette67.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm seriously thinking about moving *g*

How will he manage to concentrate on the game with you ladies sighing so loudly when it's his turn??!! :-D

Well, have fun and it cannot be stressed enough - PHOTOS!!!

I'm seriously thinking about moving *g*

I know what you mean! It's just so unfair. You, at least, are in the right hemisphere!

Rae tells me you are joining us in October! I can't wait to meet you.

[identity profile] angelvette67.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
::the right hemisphere!::

for a change! You have them the rest of the year *g*

I'm really looking forward to meeting you too, and Gilly and a lot of other friends from LJ. It's a big deal for me as I've never met anyone in person yet, and it's also the first time I'm travelling completely on my own. I'm so looking forward to October!!!!!

[identity profile] alibongo.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL - I think it's the sqee he needs to worry about! but we'll do our best to keep him on his game!

[identity profile] angelvette67.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
He'll need earplugs for sure *g* Have fun!

[identity profile] alibongo.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Surely he'll be able to just dial it down !!

[identity profile] vamysteryfan.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm deeply jealous. Looks like you get to see Richard before I do ::heavy sigh:: I hope you and Alibongo have a great time! ANd I third the motion for photos.

[identity profile] andeincascade.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Karen, what is going on with that? And has your job situation settled enough for you to travel in October?? :::crossing fingers::: We need you!

[identity profile] vamysteryfan.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
God, I'd love to go!

It's still not settled. Right now, no plans, no money.

The job has settled down a bit more though, which is of the good.

I'm just hoping he wants a trained archaeologist to show him round some of the Roman remains close by - sounds like a good way topass the evening to me!

Hee! Sounds as though you'll have a great time!

We'll have something to talk about to Garett in October.

Oh wow! Teal'c's coming too? And, like you say, we'll have something to say to Garett that won't bore the poor guy to tears.So... Urm... Anyone know anything about golf? ::G::

I have to be honest; I can't stand it. Normally, nothing would get me to stand on a windswept, rainy field (it's a bank holiday - you just KNOW the weather's gonna be ****) and watch people like Chris Evans and Brucie knock a ball around... But it's Richard!!!!! For that, I can take just about anything. And if the golf really does got too much, we can go and look at the Roman ruins. (o:

Oh man. It's been squee city here all day (o:

Umm, golf? My son asked why I would go all the way to Wales to watch golf, I looked at him in a bemused way and said, "why would you think I'm going to Wales to watch golf"

But Richard AND Roman ruins in one weekend - where can life go after that................

I have to try and get Alice Cooper's autograph for said son as well, how scary is that going to be LOL!!
