Anyone else watching BBC1?

I feel like I'm living in a wind tunnel.

Oh yes indeedy! I remember when Elections used to be rather dry affairs, the swingometer was about as exciting as it got. I suppose this is the result of celeb culture, taking reality TV to its logical conclusion.

I swear to God, I'm getting whiplash. I was working, telly on quietly in the background when they suddenly pulled the plug on kid's TV... O:!

It's all go, ain't it? :o)

Caught it on News24 on the website - astounding and fascinating. Where now, I wonder?

It's... Fascinating...? I think. ::bites nails. looks frightened::

I think we have to agree it's interesting. I think a progressive alliance, if they can make it stick, would reflect the will of the electorate as closely as you can get in this system. But it's interesting in a scary Chinese sense too, isn't it?

I have to admit I'm loving all this. It's about as interesting as politics has been since the 1970's.

ETA: Malcolm Tucker's Alastair Campbell's on...

I just read on BBC.co.uk that Brown stepped down. The complications continue

[identity profile] gillyp.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The Libs were holding talks with the tories and it looked like a done deal, now Gordon's stepped down in what's clearly part of a deal and the Libs are 'officially' holding talks with Labour and I'm getting whiplash and glued to the news. :o)

LOL! Yep - I work in an office with lots of government-focused magazines, so we've had News 24 on permanently right through the election. I was expecting them to officially announce talks with Labour (clearly part of a warning to the Tories to give them what they want or else...) but for Gordon Brown to step down so quickly was new - I thought they'd have to lever him out of No 10 with a crowbar!
