It's SO good to be home!
Oh, it so is! I spent the last week and a bit at my Mum and Dad's - mum's been quite ill; for a while there we thought we were going to lose her. She's still mostly in bed but is mostly on the mend, but we're still spending as much time over there as we can.
Now, my sister - who mostly lives with my parents - has a dog called Hamish, a half Norfolk, half... something - very sweet, but a rescue dog and the most neurotic creature to ever walk on 4 legs. At the moment, he's deeply in lust with Sally, a Springer, who lives down the road, is in heat and has been regularly slipping over to pee all over my parents(huge) garden - not a corner goes unmarked. This has been driving Hamish nuts (just when we'd more or less made up our minds Hamish was gay). He sits in the garden , tied up (because, if he's not, he immediately bolts), howling at the sky and setting every damn dog inside a 2 mile radius barking in sympathy. When he's not howling in the garden, he's howling, whimpering and crying in the house. ALL THE TIME And I do mean all the time. He NEVER stops except when sleeping (about 3 hours a night). He usually wakes us at dawn - about 4.20am - by leaping on the bed and crying till he's let out, when he commences the howling...
He's always been inclined to be a bit of a pain, but I've never seen him as bad as this and - sorry though I am to be leaving the family to cope - I have never been so glad to be home!!!

Hi - I've meant to wave at you for ages, but I'm getting vague in my old age and keep forgetting. A lazy bank holiday Monday is the perfect time to catch up a bit... :~)
