Happy New Year!

The weather here is unspeakably vile; dangerous to be out, in fact, up here, on top o' t' moors. Any plans to don fancy dress and roam the streets of Penistone (as is the custom) are off, I think. We're staying in, eating up the Christmas leftovers and watching Stanley Baxter DVDs.

To everyone on my flist, in fact, to everyone out there, I hope you all have a fun evening and a truly wonderful 2007.

So we're just going to have a quiet evening, hopefully some friends from up the road are going to come at some point and have a drink or twoi and see the new year in...

It didn't stop our bloody neighbours - they were letting the *really* noisy ones off for an hour. Hamish (the dog) was terrified; running around in a dreadful state, trembling and crying. Our cat, who has an injured paw and can't really walk, managed, *somehow* (::shrug, roll::) to get out, and then my Dad, who is 80, spent the next hour roaming the countryside in the teeth of a gale and freezing rain, looking for him. Worried witless; me, my partner and my sister, spent the same hour out in the gale, yelling and waving our torches, looking for *him*. ::sigh::

He found him, mind, and brought him home. The dog was ecstatic to see the pacvk reunited (he worships the cat).

As for the neighbours... Just let them wish me Happy New Year... I DARE them. Really, I mean it. It would SO make my day...

The weather is awful up here too. Howling gale and rain. They have cancelled Glasgow's New year bash because of the weather, Stirling has too.

Well, we're going to coorie doon and be comfy and watch some TV or DVD's like you.

Heee! Well Roberto and Timmy went out briefly when the weather calmed for two seconds....We made do with that! *G*

We had fireworks up here too. With that and the howling gale it made for a really noisy time.

I had a splendid evening drinking port, finishing off the stilton and olives and watching Jools Holland and the Secret Policeman's Ball, thanlks - until the events of midnight on, detailed above in all their misery, anyway.
