Aww! Sorry to hear about your laptop.

My pc is the old "tower" kind, it's over 10 years old and I have to restart every 45mins to get something done, as it keeps getting stuck.....probably needs to be retired. Hubby wants to get me a laptop but I'm not sure if I can adjust to that. I'm clumsy and need a 'big' keyboard....so if I do get one I'll still hook it up to the keyboard, monitor, etc.

Sounds like you need more ram, hon. But if you get the chance to switch to a laptop, do! I can't live without mine. The keyboards are fine - not too small and you can sit and be on LJ when you're watching TV or whatever. (o:

I hate hhaving to replace this - it's only 2 years old and I love it so, but being sensible, it looks like I'm going to have to. )o:

I did add more ram, and did plenty of upgrading over the years, but apparently the tech said something about the processor and motherboard being on their last legs, so I don't think it's worth upgrading any more. Hubby and the 2 eldest have laptops and are very comfortable with them, I guess I'll just have to get used to the more compact design.

And 2 years isn't long for your laptop :( .... Good luck with getting the new one!

Ah... a dying computer is a sad and terrible thing. )o: If the motherboard's going I guess there's not much to be done.

It's just a baby! ::wails:: - though it's old before its time, I've given it a pretty good hammering.

It's working fine at the moment though... ::shrugs::
