If you're in the UK, switch over to BBC4 now! Funniest thing I've seen since Python went off the air. Avoid drink though. I just almost died.

Oh noes! Knitted trousers! And they're on a bloke! O:! Hasn't stopped him groping that girl though. Perhaps she's blind.

It's the 1950's and a Man in a trilby  just approached two coppers in Soho and asked to see their truncheons. I'd say he's cruising for a bruising only, moustachioed rozzer looks like he might be up for it!

I'm completely exhausted from laughing. It's an early night for me.

If you're in the UK, the best historian in the world in space, Michael Wood! - a man who could make porridge an exciting,  poetic delight -  on Beowulf, BBC4, 9pm. A glass of wine is called for, methinks.

Huzzah! But with concessions, it seems. But we get 13 eps so let us be glad. Chuck and 30 Rock's about all we're 'acquiring' right now.

Or is it merely sooper?

I must say this new Reggie P has surpassed all my expectations. It really is very good.

Friday night telly. I love it like a mother.

It's not going well. Graham Norton's bitch-fest is going down like a mug of cold baby sick and the winners? Dear blessed baby Jesus on a hovercraft. ::shakes head in sorrow and horror:: The Entertainment nominations = Friday Night Project, TV Burp, QI and X FACTOR wins? What the merry fuck are the judges on!? Blimey!

I'm informed some people not watching live don't wanna be spoiled, so here be the cut )

Don't worry, the sound is down, I am in no danger.

I was musing on the fact that hardly any of the original cast are still extant. I think Roy Clarke is still writing it but he's 79 now and it suddenly occurred to me that, the whole show has become PG Wodehouse's typewriter!

PGW owned the same typewriter from 1912 until his death in 1975 but by that time, every single part of it had been, at some time replaced, leading to the deep and philosophical conundrum; was it still, in actual fact, the same typewriter? ::cue spooky music::

Will Last of the Summer Wine, like Pelham Grenville's beloved Royal, go on and on and on until every actor in the English-speaking world has died? It's a frightening thought.

Loving this, but wondering who's responsible for the soundtrack because it's either someone of about my age or a younger person with spectacularly good taste. *g*

FX: A cork is pulled. wine is poured.

Oh, I still have a few (a few! ha!) bits and pieces to work out and a couple of characters to think a little more about but, in general, the plot, the progressions, the characters - living and dead - are sorted, their back-stories, their motives, where/how/when they fit into the whole. Even the science and philosophy - All Done.

I'm going with a first person narrative - still need to decide where I'm going to begin and how I'll deal with the past-narrative, whether to flash-back or go from point A to point B in a more or less straight line.

But - I'm pretty much there and very much relieved abut it because for a long time it didn't look like it was going to happen at all and now here I am, all ready to start writing next week.

To paraphrase the wonder that is Alan Partridge, kiss my happy, smiley face! :D

Right. A nice big glass of South African Cabernet, I think, then dinner. Jonathan Creek! is on later. With Katherine Parkinson!!! (OMG! loves!) I am sooo looking forward to that!

Tis the first day of the New Year my delicious, ripe and fragrant darlings. I hope 2009 is treating you all with loving kindness and gentle consideration. Sending the love XXX
