Lifted from the silk-lined pocket of the estimable [personal profile] janedavitt... (slightly modified)

If you had me under your command (ooh er!) and could make me write anything, what would you love to see me write? I may not actually write any of these (but might, because I am currently trawling for new ideas), but I'm curious...

Fannish or original, but if fannish it would have to be The Sentinel (or ASJ, I guess) because that's all I write.

Blaired from the lovely [personal profile] snycock

1. Grab the nearest book
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet!  I know you were thinking about it!  Just pick up whatever is closest.

The nearest book is lying, battered and spine-broken on the coffee table, ten inches from my hand. On page 123 and etc. it says...

This stoicism, this Henrylike dedication to my studies and general contempt for all things of this world, won me admiration from all sides, particularly from Henry himself. 'I wouldn't mind being here myself this winter,' he said to me one bleak night in November as we were walking home from Charles and Camilla's, our shoes sunk to the ankles in the sodden leaves that covered the path. 'The school is boarded up and the stores in town close by three in the afternoon. Everything's white and empty and there's no noise but the wind.

From 'The Secret History' by Donna Tartt - A most excellent book that I rec to one and all.

You Are 0% Republican

If you have anything in common with the Republican party, it's by sheer chance.

You're a staunch liberal, and nothing is going to change that!

How Republican Are You?

What an odd little meme that was.

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.

Hmmm. I keep seeing this, cropping up here and there every so often, so I'm finally succumbing. An awful lot here I've never heard of let alone seen, an awful lot of my favourite shows that aren't here but, hey ho, here we go...
The Rules are:
- Bold all of the following TV shows of which you've seen 3 or more episodes.
- Italicize a show if you're positive you've seen every episode.
- Asterisk if you have at least one full season on tape or DVD
- If you want, add up to 3 additional shows (keep the list in alphabetical order) - I've added:
Monty Python's Flying Circus - how come this wasn't on the list? Unbelievable!
I'm Alan Partridge
The IT Crowd
ETA: (and Survivors)

Does it actually mean anything? I doubt it, really...  Anyway, I'm off to watch Top Gear.

This makes me sad, angry and question the meaning of my life. These are not good things for a Sunday Morning so I thought I should do a meme and apparently, I am...

Which Lolcat am I? )

Hmmm. Do I feel better? I really don't know. My brain is still too muddied from the lack of tea for me to say.

Mark got up at 6am to put the sealant on the kitchen floor; I cannot decide if he's a hero or a fool. The stuff ate through a bristle brush and two pairs of rubber gloves, the smell is unbearable and the floor can't be walked on for four hours. This means no access to the kettle or the stairs (and that means the bathroom) for another hour. I'm sitting on the sofa with the front door wide open to let in some air and I needs tea!!! Dammit!
