Well there you go.

Which Life on Mars-character are you? created with QuizFarm.com |
But really... 'You feel like your stuck' - tut tut tut. Someone didn't pass their 11+ and go to a good *grammar* school (please note clever pun) did they?
(stuck in the 70's see? They got me bang to rights and no mistake.)
This is interesting...
( this way to the meme )

You Are a Ring Finger |
![]() You are romantic, expressive, and hopeful. You see the best in everything. You are very artistic, and you see the world as your canvas. You are also drawn to the written word. Inventive and unique, you are often away in your own inner world. You get along well with: The Pinky Stay away from: The Index Finger |
Now this, I like...

Open the Word doc of your fic. Click AutoSummarise (on the tools menu), when it has autosumarised tell it to put the output in a new document and that you want the summary to be 100 words or less. The shorter the fic the more coherent sense the summary will make, but the long ones are funnier.

My Life and other disasters.
So what's new, chez Gilly you may ask yourself? Well, nothing much, sadly... I just spent the last three days tiling my parents kitchen; tiled like a loony I have, but ran out of tiles, so no more tiling till next visit (since I bought them in Chorley). Oh dear what a shame. Cut my finger rather badly hacking the old tiles off too; bled like a bastard. )o:
But I've been making writery progress; been hauling my fat arse out of bed at six to write my book which is (if I can keep to the very slack schedule I've set myself) due to be finished next Saturday. I'll be sending out the traditional begging email to my agent this week and keeping my fingers crossed.
My fic writing activities have been a bit neglected as a result, but I'm hoping to press on with those over the next few days. And I need to do some serious re-writing on the last bit of my Moonridge fic if the comment from my worthy betas is anything to go by. Hey ho...
Of course, I'd've got a LOT more work done today if I hadn't just spent TWO HOURS reading an old fic. Linda, who runs the Pete Duel Site emailed to say the new fic page was now live; I moseyed over to look and ended up getting very involved in The Gift, a fic I wrote some years ago. It wasn't half bad, either. Damn, I'm good! <VBG>
And it seems...
|
Such is my life. How about the rest of you? I hope all's well with your world, my estimable flist. If I owe you emails and/or comment, I might finally get around to you sometime today.
Anyway, back to twinkling like the Milky Way...
Prevaricating, because I should be out running...

Another cool meme to play with
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Go to page 123 (or 23 or 3 if it hasn't got that far yet) of your current WiP. Read down four sentences. Type out the paragraph that follows.
Well I have 2 on the go at the moment, one at 18 pages so far, the other a mere 4 and a half.
From the longer one, I find;
"I flirted with my son’s partner because it’s what I do. Jim was a little bemused by me, I could see that and I had fun teasing him. I couldn’t resist; he seemed so straight, so whitebread, so entirely wrong as a companion for my Blair. How wrong I was about that – about a lot of things. I had no idea, then, that he would ask about my deepest, darkest secret, or that I would end up confessing it to him. Even now, I don’t really know why I told him, a man I’d only just met. Sometimes you just have to go with your instincts, and Jim seemed so solid, so trustworthy, so safe.
Hmmmm.
From the shorter one;
"We both know that’s not true, Chief. Don’t feel you have to be stronger than you are.”
Well that's illuminating! (hee!)
I'm really enjoying both of these. #1 - I already know where that's going to go and it's an interesting concept, with lots of 1st person, but I'm not anticipating anything unexpected. I'm getting much more fun out of #2, which I only started today - 2,000 words in and it's already surprised me by taking a turn I hadn't planned. And I can't help but feel it's going to be very, very long.
Your turn to play...
Meme me a good one.
Blaired from everyone! OK... Mab says it's alright to pimp yourself, and who am I to argue with the wonderful
