The view from the front door - not very exciting I'm afraid. That's the arse-end of our Skoda, btw.
for
Withnell from the fields between us and Abbey Village (our house is one of the back row of houses on the far left)
Withnell from the hills in front of the house. That's part of the sawmill dominating the picture, our house is behind, obscured by trees.
Withnell from Bury Lane. Our house is right in the middle of the pic, 3rd from the left of the terrace (mostly obscured by the mill)
Withnell from the moors above the house. Our house isn't on this picture, it's on the other side of the field on the right of the pic.
and the linen chest/bedside table...
Hope that's what you were after(?) (o:

That's the same cake we saw before, isn't it?
Happy to oblige - why anyone wants to see this stuff is beyond me, but it amused me for an hour or two. *g*

I just LOVE posts of my friends' homes. Thanks.
Looking forward to my window views. *g*

Me too! I LOVE them!

Gilly's world
You mustn't feel stalked, but I'm going now to find Withnell on the map. (I just love looking at maps!)
::MrsTilford rummages about for the atlas::
Re: I'm an artiste??
I guess beauty's in the eye of the beholder! I can't see anything the least bit romantic in my house which is just an old mill-worker's cottage, but I'm more than happy that it seems romantic to you!
Did you find us on the map? I like google maps myself; I like their satellite images + local photos.
So, where are you?
Hello, again.
First, where I am: U.S., Tennessee, Coffee County, Tullahoma, population c. 20,000. Tullahoma is SSE of Nashville, 65 miles as the crow flies, a bit farther if the crow is driving a 12-year-old van on the interstate. The name, Tullahoma, is an old, old native American word: "Tulla", meaning "mud" and "homa", meaning "more mud". (Hmm. That may have been funnier back in the days before we paved over everything.)
Second, yes, I found Withnell (Chorley?) on my tiny atlas map and then on the Google map (which is sometimes hard to follow because you can't get a zoom-in and zoom-out picture at the same time). Google is great except for that one failing: I can't put one finger here and my other finger there and get an idea of where you are in relation to the rest of the country. My short term memory is pitiful, and by the time I've located one place, I've forgotten where I started!
Which actually brings me to the favor-asking I mentioned above. I really do need to get a poster-sized-or-larger map of the U.K., but I don't know from whom to get it. Since you are a lover of maps, I thought perhaps you could point me in the direction of a reputable mapmaker with a website from which I could order, without you going to a lot of trouble.
I'll be very grateful for any information you can give me. Thanks and {{hugs!}}, and whenever I get my longed-for digital camera, I'll send you pix of my front door! *bg*
Re: maps?
You could try the Ordinance Survey - though their maps are probably more detailed than you're looking for. Ebay...?
I'd just try googling if I were you, because all I'm getting my end are a ton of UK-based links which are no use to you.
Re: maps?
Thanks for your efforts - they're much appreciated. ;^)

Lovely shots of the surrounding area.
Your house from the front surprised me
Any chance of a look at your place? ::she asked, batting eyelashes, smiling sweetly::
This is mine
The majority of houses in Australia are brick, but this kind of weatherboard transportable house is common in rural areas, at the lower end of the market anyway! They're manufactured in the city and delivered in two pieces on trucks, then joined at the middle when they get to their destination!
I don't think I've ever seen an Australian house with stonework like yours has. It's very attractive!

Your house is so cute and sweet
But if you're coming over in October, you'll be staying, won't you(?) - so at least you know what you're letting yourself in for. (o:
