I forgot to buy filler. Mark has ventured out - Gods, it's awful out there, crashing rain and wind a howlin' down the chimney like some old Blues singer.
I've helped Mark shift stuff as best I can, nothing major, just all the nick-nacks (OK, I freely admit , I don't trust him to move the precious things of the shop. If he'd damaged my Venezuelan paperweight there'd be no telling what I might do). I've wrapped everything in bubble-wrap and boxed it carefully, moved pictures and mirrors and plaster images of de sun and de moon (lawks a lawdy, I have some weird shit in my house! hee!). Shifting the furniture - mostly inherited, mostly Victorian, all of it solid and very, very heavy - that's his department. Even shifting the blanket bags has done me in and I'm sitting downstairs, nursing coffee, contemplating crumpets, resting the injury.
::flails fists and wails at the sky:: Why have you done this thing to me now? Heck, it couldn't have happened at a worse time though, with one eye on the news, my own petty concerns have faded into quantum insignificance .
Anyway, Mark's back at B&Q, next door's cat has come in out of the rain. Thus ends this update.

Too cool for subject

Oh lordy - you're having a horrible time.
::sends massive gentle hugs, more strong booze, and a nekkid Blair to massage you with warm scented oil::
Oh. Oh!
The strong booze is running low and needs must wait till after the work is done but... ::checks:: Yup, my lappy batereis* are charged so I can at least listen to The Now Show whilst I work.
I hope your Saturday is going better than mine, Sugarbun.
*I have no idea what batereis are but they sound mighty tasty!

Yum - lightly toasted with a little honey... *hg*
Send us some of your rain, pretty please?
Re: Here y'go!
If pain is what you feel, you have my most abject - whatevers. I'm quite happy decorating, I rather enjoy it. I stick Radio 4 on and toodle away. One room plastered, one room all clean and sparkly and awaiting coats of paint tomorrow. ::feels smugly accomplished::
Re: Here y'go!
We wanted a warm brown, but on the wall it looked like baby poo...lol. We went went with a pale cream, which looks okay.
Re: Ha!
Re: Ha!
Pink, huh? I've seen some lovely pinks, but they never look the same on the wall as on the card.
It was nice, but dark, and didn't go with our blue couches...So we've already painted that room once.
My boss said I should try the brown again, and live with if for a few days. I'm kinda reluctant...

Re: Ha!
I did win in the end with a color called Eurolinen. Okay, it's a beige. But it's not white! Unfortunately upstairs where the light is different, it just looks white.
