::yawns. lifts glass of Aussie red. attempts to ward off encroaching doze::
Well, we cleared most of the sitting room - not all of it; furniture, lamps and rugs, the TV and its attendant tranklements - all still here, as are we. With hindsight, our plans to empty the room in a day have proven somewhat over-ambitious. *g*
We cleared out the bedroom - I finally got around to emptying the linen-chest and chucked out a heap of torn and frayed, yellowing linens that we bought in
Then we cleared the sitting room. Gosh, what a lot of books we have. At least I got a pretty good work-out (first in weeks) going up and down (and up. And down. And Up. And ad. bloody inf.) the stairs carrying books, DVDs, CDs and our many albums (vinyl! It's what we listened to in the olden days, children). Also the Famous Orange Lamp (as seen in Life on Mars! And what an exciting moment that was. ::sighs happily:: Ah. Small things...) - then wrapping my horribly delicate artefacts in swathes of bubble wrap and... gosh. The semi-naked sitting room is SO BLOODY DIRTY! O:! Lawks a lawdy it is. It's always a moment of dread, when you start moving furniture and rolling rugs and see what lurks beyond the hoover's reach.
Another strange, tarry stain has been revealed behind a picture, just like the one we found behind the hanging in the bedroom. Must be something coming out of the stone walls but what it is, I have no idea. It's really horrible; ugly and, tb entirely h, slightly scary.
Man.
We are both very, very tired now, but bathed and sweet-smelling again. There be wine and olives, Maltezers and cheesy kettle-crisps and a (no doubt illicit) new-season preview of the 1st 2 eps of Californication, and Big-Bang Night on BBC4 to watch so life could be a great deal worse.
Shifting furniture, stripping wallpaper and painting on the damp-guard stuff tomorrow. I can't wait ::she said with a hollow laugh::
Gosh, I'm tired.
*For the Good People reading Blue - No writing has been done today, I'm afraid. So much for the 'weekly post' intentions. (o: I may try and make a start of the next chapter tonight, if I can stay awake (unlikely. Sorry).
Too cool for subject
You deserve them, and the wine and olives, for all your hard work!
You deserve them
More hard work tomorrow alas. And the day after. And the day after that. ::sigh::
Twill be worth it in the end ::she keps telling herself::

Though I do know about 20 words of German - does that count?
:o)
Re: Heh
Wiki says; Moss tries to liven up his life by enrolling in a German cookery course. It turns out that the German is actually a cannibal seeking someone willing to be eaten.
It's on YouTube, should you care to sample it.
Moss and the German

Goodness. I'm tired just reading about it.
::sends some nice Dorset Blue Vinney to go with the wine::
Dorset Blue Vinney
Here - ::hurls slab of eye-wateringly powerful Yorkshire Blue (the Ewe's milk version) at Snail by return::
I have some spare. (o:
We're both shattered this morning and fortifying selves with juice, coffee, eggs and toast (very Jim n Blair - no peanut butter alas) and Radio 4 before even thinking about anything else. Old age, it's a bitch.
Re: Dorset Blue Vinney
Ooh Yorkshire Blue - I've never tried... I must hunt some down *g*
Not sure you're suffering from old age (who is indeedy an uber bitch) as from extreme decoratingitis. That's a nasty condition - you really ought to nip down the pub and stay there till the urge to be one with a paint brush has worn off ::nods wisely::
Happy Sunday, btw. I have foraged in Morrisons, all is well with my world!
Too cool for subject
Like Snailbones, I am all tuckered out just reading about all your hard work. *g*
Good luck with it.
Meanwhile, back at the Rancho, (as we used to say MANY years ago) I shall be oh-so-patiently awaiting the next chapter of Blue. *g*

Hey ho, coffee, then more coffee, breakfast and maybe more coffee then I might think about making a start. ::eyes manky skirting boards with horror::
Ah, Blue. I glanced at it but as I really don't have that much of a clue what's going to happen next (and didn;t have the energy to figure it out), I decided to leave it. It'll happen in a day or two, I've no doubt. *g*
Too cool for subject
Since it's now late afternoon across the Pond, I hope you found enough energy from coffee and such to get done what needed to be done!
Now you can have some cheese to fortify yourselves. *g*
I can be very patient, waiting for more Blue. =>}
Too cool for subject
Any minute now.

Um...
::stays in bed and reads LJ some more::
Heh.
Hey ho. It shouldn;t take too long to finish (should it?).
Enjoy your day sugar-button, whatever you decide to do with it. ::sends some chocolate-coated luurve::
