Sort of.
It's all painted, it all looks done - I'm a tad bothered by the strange, black, tarry substance painted on a couple of the walls by Victorian forbears. It's managed to break through rubber paint, 2 layers of skim and 2 layers of paint. A further skim and more paint seems to have finally cracked it, but we'll have to see in the morning.
Tomorrow an electrician arrives (we hope) to sort the muddle of wires in the switches and then, we're done. We might move the furniture back - kinda depends on whether the paint is truly dry, otherwise it'll have to wait for the next visit. There are a few things still to buy - a ceiling light., some new curtains, stuff like that but...
::heaves relieved sigh::
It's mostly done. Thank all the Gods. I'm thoroughly scrubbed and in my 'jamas with a beer and a (quorn) sausage, chipotle sauce and smoked cheese sarnie.
Next time - the kitchen O:!!!! ::cue organ chord, thunder clap, wolf howl::

Wheeeeeee! Well done! ::sends ice cream and strong booze::
The black stuff seeping through all your efforts sounds a bit ominous - fingers crossed it'll have the grace to stay painted over for a while. Wonder what the heck it is?
Good luck with the electrician too - they're flighty beasts at the best of times. I use a large butterfly net to catch mine, but I've heard a trail of
ciderbreadcrumbs works wonders too.Black is back
I've put another latyer of skim on it - before we go I'll oaint it again. That's all I can do now, really. If it comes back again I think we'll have to just cover it with a picture or something.
I have no idea what it is. It's jet black and tarry and nothing seems to cover it. I assume it's under the plaster in the bedroom too - it has toi be the source of the tarry stain we encountered up there too. I was hoping that dealing with the damp in the walls would put a stop to it. Apparently not. ::weeps::
Electricians, indeed. And plumbers. And carpenters. Don't get me started (no, really. Dont!)

Sounds like a job well down. I hope that black gunk disappears. Maybe it's something like creosote that they used to put on fence posts and such before putting them into the ground, so that they don't rot.
I had to Google "quorn". I've had very tasty vegan sausages, but since quorn is made out of some kind of "mycoprotein a member of the fungi family" and I hate mushrooms, I'd be very leery of trying it. *g*
I've never heard of it here. =>}

I wonder why they don't sell it over there? ::shrug::

Mushroom. Fungus. They're all the same to me and I can't eat them. YUCK! *g*
We tried tempeh once and I almost barfed. =>}
I have no idea why it's not sold in Canada, though.
Urm. Ok.
But don't go bringing any charred dead animals near me, thanks v much. How people can eat that stuff is beyond me. The smell makes me heave. (o:
Re: Urm. Ok.
J. loves mushrooms of all kinds, as does our son.
We ate only vegetarian meals at home for eight years. We only started eating meat again because our daughter started at a Culinary Institute and wanted to be able to practise at home.
We still eat a lot of vegetarian and vegan meals. We love tofu, legumes and such.
Sadly, I love meat. Always have. My main reason for not eating meat was the way we treat animals before killing them. Now we try to get ours from sources where the animals are treated more humanely.
Guess I'm just an omnivore at heart. *sigh*

That black stuff's a bit worriesome as well as being a nuisance.
