Completed our ticky-list for today - Stairwell painted in a coat of snowy white, all ready for a pleasing over-coat of mint-green tomorrow. I've done a load of niggly little things like putting the handles back on doors, sticking some flexible filler under the stairs and touching up beams that've been snagged by my clumsy brush.

The main task for me today, though, was painting the kitchen.

Not a v good photo - I took it on the phone, but you get the picture. (o:

Tomorrow: painting the stairwell, re-grouting the tiles and cleaning the stone floor ready for sealing and polishing on Saturday.

It's coming on.

There will be wine and chocolate later and I do believe a pizza is in the offing. There's a film to watch too, a newish one acquired by ::Hand to mouth. coughs. Harsenal!:: virtual means. I hope you're all enjoying a pleasant evening too my loves. ::Exits in search of olives::

We are sitting in the calm before the storm. Next tear out entire upstairs bath and replace everything. Then the kitchen. There must be an end somewhere right?right?

Ours, hopefully on Sunday. Fingers crossed. (o:

Good luck with all that - we did the bathroom last year. Not good (and I still miss the old bath. This one is just not comfy like the old one).

Umm... On the picture the colour looks just fine for me, with the wood and all that. not the hideous pink :-)

pink, huh? i have to admit i'm not a fan of pink, although that isn't a hideous shade. if it were my kitchen, it'd be robin's-egg blue, with silver trim. :-)

I've tried it. Also green, cream and golden yellow - nothing looks right. Pink looks best with the pine and the northern light, such as it is (cottage, thick stone walls, smallish windows).

Silver trim wouldn't go with antique pine, trust me. (o:

i do trust you - you've seen the place and worked with it, and i haven't. :-)

that's the trade-off of re-furbishing old vs building new - they each have their attractions. :-D you sound like you're having fun with the re-do, occasional stumbling block aside.
