Why weren't they on our ballot?

For the Lancashire County Council elections, in South Ribble, there were only two parties on the ballot, the Tories and the Idle Toads - and the Idle Toads won! by a substantial margin.

Fan bloody tastic!

They have a website.
Oh, and in Hansard! 
I rather like the cut of their gib, but the Militant Elvises? Now they're the guys for me!

Well, I'd certainly have voted for the Idle Toads above the Overprivileged Malevolent Toads!

One does though want to ask why the voters were denied the chance to vote for anyone else.
