Of course it is, so it's back to work. I just got another submission of the road-story printed for a new agency that's expressed an interest; I shall take that round to the PO when they re-open after lunch.
In the meantime, I'm working on my old novel, I'm going to self-publish the thing before i start a fresh round of submitting it to agents and reviewers, so I'm prepping it for that and I'm thinking about slashing it up a bit...
The story's set in Cuba, so, obviously, there's a lot of sex in it; a lot of heavy flirting, gay and straight, plenty of prostitutes, male and female - there was one het couple, the CIA agents - I've been having a lovely time turning the woman into a man which makes sentences like;
'he ran a warm hand under her shirt and began to nibble at her nipples,' so much more fun.
I haven't decided which version to use yet - keep the woman or change her sex, but I'm having massive fun in the process.
What's the weather like where you are? It's surprisingly bright here today, but with a thick layer of cloud that bodes ill. I hope everyone out there's OK, today. Stay dry, my lovelies.
ETA, 2.35pm: I just walked round to the PO to send my ms and - it's raining. What joy.

Your Cuba story sounds yummy! I'm sure your CIA lady will tell you which gender she prefers soon...in the meantime, sounds like a blast!
It's pretty cloudy here in Ohio, looks like rain soon. Works for me. We need the rain pretty bad here. I would say I have to mow the lawn, but it's truer to say I have to mow the weeds. :) Grass is just not growing right now. Too dry. Anyhoo, just enjoying my time off and attempting to do something productive. Needless to say, I'm not trying too hard. *snerk*
Have a fantabulous day and don't get too water-logged!

I've given the gay-male version of my CIA lady curly brown hair and blue eyes. I really can only write one pairing... hee! I haven't decided yet if I prefer the female or the male versions - i did like the female, she was such a bitch, but making them gay gives it a whole new feeling. I have to read it through again and make sure it's all OK, If I decide to go with the gay-pair, I might bump up their roles a little, make them a bigger feature of the story.
Thanks for the good vibes anyway; always much appreciated.

"...gay-male version of my CIA lady curly brown hair and blue eyes." haha I love it! I did the same thing in a short story I wrote a while ago. Set in the civil war and the army doctor had a striking resemblence to a certain anthropologist (short hair, was my only conscession) and the army captain looked an awful lot like Ellison...what a coinsidence.
Sounds like you're coming along great. I love supporting characters almost as much as the main. I didn't even realize how much until I recently read a book, that had some really interesting supporting characters, but you really didn't see them much. Kinda dissappointing. Happy writing!

Not in my area, no - which is strange since I live in what's normally the wettest part of England. We've had a lot of heavy rain but nothing like other areas - and it's very hilly, which helps. Over in Yorkshire, where I come from, we had the most incredible rain a few weeks ago and major floods (again, not in the hills where my parents live), this time it's the south and midlands.
It makes it so much easier when you make it Jim and Blair, doesn't it? Not that they are J&B; I write the book befoire I ever knew about TS, though one of the pair is descriptively like RB, he's a heavy smoker and very laconic. I can totally see RB playing the role. The other one is flirty, bitchy and snide... not really Blair-like at all. ::G::

I see Bedford's got a flood warning for tonight so it must be moving eastwards. )o:!
