There's not so much we can do today, we've washed the walls and paintwork, put a skim on the two outer walls, finished filling all them pesky holes and undercoated the two still-green walls in white so they match the freshly plastered ones. Now everything has to dry so it can be sanded and what-notted tomorrow prior to painting and there's still one wall to be damp-gunked but... nothing much more we can do today, only wait for everything to dry. I feel very idle.

Tomorrow's the worst job - gloss-painting the woodwork (ick! sticky gloss paint, horrid nasty smelly stuff that I'm sure to be cutting out of my hair for the next several days) and painting the walls.

The end is in sight.

So, taking a break for a cuppa and a hob-nob. I just fired off my LMFA email...

Constitutionally incapable of making a decision, I prevaricated mightily but in the end, it wasn't hard to decide what categories to go for, I don't see the point of competing against myself so some categories were easy to cut (the word 'angst' seems to figure greatly in my ficcish world. *g*) and some noms I really couldn't go with (Angel Dust a case and action story? I don't think so!)  Despite major reservations I decided to let both author categories stand. Oustanding author in either category feels - (snort!) really, really wrong, but especially so in slash. I don't think I'm a good slash author (and that's not a fishfor, honestly; I really don't think I give good slash) and the competition in that cat. is insanely good but - hey ho the nonny, just for the craic... *g*

So. What now? ::twiddles thumbs in a slightly awkward and embarrassed fashion:: There's nothing to be done downstairs. I feel all at a loss.

Hee! I haven't been commenting, but just because it makes me all feel a) tired and b) lazy. What a great job you are doing! Hope you are rewarding yourself with something more lasting than tea ;)

Well, once the sun's under that that yard arm, for sure. I've got a rather vinegary but acceptible Italian red that'll be hitting the spot in about an hour or so.

I was thinking about making a start on the glossing but... Gosh. No. I don't think so. Tomorrow is another day.

Oh yuk. Gloss paint. Smelly, awful to do and usually coats whichever animal chooses to brush past...
Good luck with it!

I hope you're wine is going down well!

Worst part of the job, imo. )o:

The wine is going down very nicely indeed, thank you, as is David Tennant in 'Blackpool'. Maestro up next - it's good to relax after a hard day at the coal-face, feeling suitably virtuous. (o:

*tiptoes in*

I just read "The Sentinel Affair" and I wanted to let you know that I thought you did a really nice job with it. Jim 'encountering' Blair at the commune and his attempts at 'hippie speak' from his course work made me grin and when Jim whipped off the wig and the 'threads' I just about squeed my jeans. Truth to tell, at this point your story reminded me a bit more of "Mission Impossible" than MUNCLE but all good. I thought you really exhibited your future promise as a top flight TS authoress in the scenes in the Temple with Blair drugged and interacting with the murals. At this point your story really was gripping and I totally bought the premise insane Kenny, evol Alex, brainwaves, pooled Sentinels et al!

*twirls you*

I am so glad you are still here in TS!

My ficly past has been haunting me a bit this week. After that 1st lines meme I went way back and re-read one of my Alias Smith n Jones fics this week - that was a real trip into the dim and cobwebbed distant, I can tell you. (o:

TheS.A - Really? wow. *g* I haven't read that in a long time. It never got any feedback, I was astonished when it made last year's LMFA ballot. Mission Impossible, huih? I can't remember ever watching that either - I mean, I remember it being on but couldn't tell you a thing about it. *g*

I do remember the Moonridge winner throwing me for a major loop asking for that as a theme. It certainly taught me a lesson about offering 'an AU of your choice' in an auction. (o:

I'm extremely glad you enjoyed it anyhow. I should go back and re-read it myself, shouldn't I? I can barely remember anything about it now.

I thought you really exhibited your future promise as a top flight TS authoress in the scenes in the Temple...
Ah... go on with you. ::is secretly pleased::
