Only a dusting, no more than an inch of it but it's sunny and frosty-bright with a blue-pink sky, sugared trees and all rather gorgeous. We just got back from what should be the last shop (and there was much rejoicing!) - a few veggies, parsnips and Ted spuds for the roasties, sosmix for the sausage rolls, more cards, more port (since we drank what we bought last week) and the cheese! From my favourite Chorley cheesemonger

In other news - it's Christmas! Well, nearly. I've been trying to do pictures of my mantelpiece, they don't really do justice to its many Christmassy virtues but here goes anyway.Back now, warming up, crumpets and tea, the cat's arrived. I shall be venturing out again later to post the last cards, if the sun's still up I might do pictures.

Merry Fireplace says Merry Christmas!

Basement Cat is indifferent to your Christmas.

 I've tried it every which way but can't get anything to go under a cut, sorry about that. If the pictures are fannying with your LJ, let me know and I'll take em down.

Mmm - the bread and cheese looks lushy, and your mantelpiece is beautiful (and we have the exact same taste in cushions *g*).

Our snow was a short lived thing, but made me ridiculously happy - I was driving home in it last night singing my heart out. Good thing I was on my own. Now all we need is a nice blizzard around the 23rd... I wanna make snowmen and have snowball fights on Christmas Eve!

You wouldn;t be the snail that leaves snail-trails all over my rugs and cushions every night now, would you?

The bread is from Booths and is, indeed, lushly! The cheese is driving me crazy I've had to secrete it at the back of the fridge so it doesn't get eaten before Christmas, the temptation is so strong... O:

Our snow is freezing into sheets of treacherous ice, everywhere but on the moors it seems, where I went merrily striding into a snow covered bog, soaked to the knees m'dear. How the sheep laughed.

Sending tinselly love. ♥

I *love* what you've done to your mantlepiece there -it looks very homey and festive.

And that is one helluva close up of Basement Cat..*g*

Well thank you kindly. I always put my most vigorous Christmas spirits into decorating the fireplace, it's the centre of the room and it just seems to scream to be ponced up like Santa's grotto.

And that is one helluva close up of Basement Cat..*g*
We're very close. ::nods::
